Blogging is the absolute highest ROI activity a real estate agent can do to generate inbound, organic leads. However, writing a 1,500-word article about mortgage rates takes hours.

Many agents turn to ChatGPT, prompt it once, and copy-paste the robotic output. Google instantly detects this low-quality AI spam and de-indexes the website. If you want to use ChatGPT to write SEO-optimized blogs, you have to use the "Outline Method."

The Outline Method

Do not ask ChatGPT to write the entire article at once. First, ask it to build the skeletal structure of the post, ensuring it hits all the long-tail keywords.

"Act as an expert SEO strategist. Create a detailed outline for a blog post titled 'First-Time Homebuyer Mistakes in [Your City]'. Include H2 and H3 headings. Ensure the headings are formulated as commonly asked Google questions."

Injecting the "Human Element"

Once the outline is approved, you must prompt ChatGPT to write section by section. To avoid sounding robotic, you must explicitly tell it not to use standard AI "tells".

"Write the content for Section 1 defined in our outline. Tone: Conversational, expert, slightly witty. IMPORTANT RESTRICTIONS: Do not use the words 'delve', 'moreover', 'testament', or 'landscape'. Write at an 8th-grade reading level and use short, punchy paragraphs."

Always Edit Manually

ChatGPT is a co-pilot, not an autopilot. Always take 10 minutes to verify the facts (especially regarding local property taxes or interest rates) and inject personal stories about actual clients you've helped. This "E-E-A-T" (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) is what actually ranks your blog on Google.
